Terms

How Perch and you fit together.

Last updated 8 May 2026. The plain version. The Apple Mac App Store agreement also applies because that's where you bought Perch.

Using Perch

Perch is a macOS menu bar app made by PaperCloud Studios. When you buy and install it from the Mac App Store, you get a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it on the Macs you own or control, under Apple's standard end-user terms.

Don't redistribute Perch, reverse engineer it, or pretend it's yours. Beyond that, use it however suits your work.

Your App Store Connect credentials

To use Perch, you provide your own App Store Connect API credentials. You're responsible for keeping that key secure and for the actions Perch takes on your behalf when it talks to Apple's API. You can revoke the key in App Store Connect at any time and Perch will stop working.

Perch never sends those credentials anywhere except to Apple, and it stores them locally in your Mac's Keychain. See the Privacy page for details.

Buying Perch

Perch is sold through the Mac App Store as a one-time purchase. Apple handles the transaction, the receipts and the refund process. If you'd like a refund, request it through Apple in the usual way. PaperCloud Studios does not handle refunds directly.

What Perch shows you

Perch displays data fetched from Apple's App Store Connect API. We do our best to render it accurately, including currency conversion using daily rates from frankfurter.app. Apple's reports can lag, change or be revised, and Perch reflects whatever Apple returns.

Perch is a quick read, not a system of record. Decisions that depend on exact numbers should still go through App Store Connect.

Updates and changes

Perch evolves. New features, refined animations, occasional rewrites. Updates ship through the Mac App Store. By using Perch, you accept that the app will change over time. Major changes that affect this agreement will be announced in the change log.

Liability

Perch is provided as is. We've built it carefully but software is software. PaperCloud Studios isn't liable for losses, missed sales or business decisions made because of what Perch did or did not show, except where the law says we can't disclaim that.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. If something can't be sorted out by talking, the Sydney courts have jurisdiction.
